In the event of a fire, fire dampers close automatically, preventing smoke and fire from spreading through the ductwork. FK-EU series fire dampers comply with EN 1366-2 and EN 15650. National rules and regulations must be observed when installing the damper.
The dampers are designed for installation in solid walls and floor slabs, on the face of solid walls, next to and remote from solid walls, vertically in ceiling slabs, in lightweight partition walls, in fire walls of lightweight construction and in shaft walls. They are installed in horizontal and vertical ducts. The installation position does not depend on the airflow direction. When installed in walls and ceiling slabs, a non-fire-rated duct can be connected directly to the damper casing. In the event of a fire, the damper closes automatically at 72 °C or 95 °C (for warm air systems), triggered by a release mechanism: a fusible link or a thermoelectric release with a spring-return actuator. The release mechanism is easily accessible and can be checked at any time. The fire damper has two inspection openings. The fire resistance class of FK-EU fire dampers, EI120 (ve, ho i↔o), S, complies with EN 13501-3 and depends on the application.
